We are one step closer to the most wonderful time of the year! A time to celebrate blessings, enjoy amazing dishes, and spend time with the people we love! At times, we are all guilty of forgetting all the blessing we have (myself included). How does this happen?
Well, I know for me, I can get so caught up in the rat race, comparison game, and “busy” schedules that it can take over. I focus on the future a lot and forget to live in moment. This time of year, I like to take time, evaluate things, and review my year remembering all the blessings I have. Plus, it’s nice to have a list to look back year after year (See 2016 HERE)!
THIS YEARS LIST:
1. THE SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE
This is #1 because I could not be or do the things I do if I didn’t have a support system. They tell you as a mom you need a village and they are right. Life without these people would not exist. THANK YOU, family, friends, teachers, and everyone else who has helped at some time this year!
2. GETTING TO BE A MOM
I have talked about it before but my daughter is truly a miracle (read more about why, HERE). This life would not be the same without this big personality and I tell myself that every time she has a meltdown- LOL.
3. CHALLENGES AND OBSTACLES
I am grateful that life throws some of these my way. At times, it can be stressful but without these, you would never improve.
Having a big Mexican family and marrying into another guarantees you will have a family function every day of the year – just kidding (ok not really). But seriously so thankful for both of our families and their love for us. My daughter is truly the most spoiled, loved little girl in the world! I also love that she gets to see her cousins often and gets to be loved by so many people.
I don’t mean the professional ones (I love y’all too), I mean all the people that have helped me take pictures at some point this year. Work as a blogger requires a ton of photos, capturing the right angles, and sometimes taking a million photographs. Thank you to my INSTAGRAM HUSBAND, INSTAGRAM FRIENDS AND FAMILY, and the strangers I asked too! You know who you are- can you take that again- LOL!
6. DOING WHAT I LOVE
Social media can be deceiving at times and doesn’t always show the struggles that are behind this passion project of mine. I would not have it any other way! I love sharing my creative space with the world and hope to continue doing this for years to come with every challenge and road block included.
7. MY DAUGHTER’S AGE
This age is so much fun! She is learning and soaking up every drop of knowledge. I appreciate the time I get to spend with her and the fun we are having. There are times when she has her moments but for the most part I would say I could bottle her up at this age forever.
8. MY SLEEP
It only took 3.5 years for my daughter to sleep through the night and that I am grateful for. The mombie days are few and far between. It is really amazing how much more you can do with sleep. To all the mamas who have lost hope- there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Working in this industry gives me a lot of flexibility and autonomy. I am definitely grateful but also mindful of this because it can be a blessing and a curse all in one!
10. THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW SOMETIMES I AM JUST HERE FOR THE WINE
I talk about taking breaks and it’s important in any stage of life (mom or not). I get invited to so many things and sometimes I do just go for the wine and company. Thank you to all the people who have shared wine with me this year and did not judge me for just coming for the wine. Sometimes that’s all you need! Cheers!
I hope that you all will take a brief moment to stop and be thankful this year! Everyone is struggling with something but everyone has something to be grateful for. Let’s not take life for granted, every day is a blessing!
