It’s the first day of May! What are you getting your mom for Mother’s Day? What do you get someone that has everything? The questions that circle my head this time of year. Well, as a toddler mom, the number one thing on the wish list is SLEEP- right? But let’s be practical and talk about something you might actually be able to give or receive.
I write this post with a heavy heart because we lost a member of our family this past week, someone who was a mother. When this happens, it’s easy to start to analyze your own life, the way you live, and the legacy you will leave behind. What difference did you make in the world? Did you captured your loved ones before they got ill?
My mother was and will always be the Mamarazzi. I have pictures for days and I LOVE looking back at them and laughing at memories from the past, the fashions I sported (lessons learned- lol), and the places we have been. As I was thinking of a unique Mother’s Day gift that would be meaningful but not take up any space, I chose to give my mom a photoshoot this year. Something that could capture a moment in time and be something we could share forever. It’s not everyday you can dress up in the same dresses and have fun!
3 Unique Mother’s Day Gifts for the MOM that has it All!
Growing up, it’s not hard for the mountains of pictures to pile up. From the annual school shots, sports photos, and holiday pics- the memories aren’t hard to capture. But as we age and develop lives and/or families of our own, the pictures get reserved for special occasions. It’s nice to get all dressed up and freeze a moment in time.
Even if its only a day trip, it’s a memory and maybe a place that can be crossed off the bucket list. Living in Texas, we have a few of those gems only a couple of hours away like Hamilton Pool or the Magnolia Market at the Silos.
Experiencing new things together can create special bonds. Think about some of the things that your mom may like. This could be anything from sky diving to a spa day. Spending time together will mean the world to her.
As you can see, we captured a little piece of our lives. After losing a loved one, you remember more than ever that time is not promised. If you haven’t purchased anything yet for your mom, I encourage you to create a certificate with one of these ideas. Trust me, she will love it! Wishing all the moms here and in heaven a Happy Mother’s Day!
