If you haven’t already heard, Bluemercury is now in Houston! The Grand Opening took place last Wednesday with beauty experts and media alike. The first location is a store-in-store concept inside Macy’s at Memorial City Mall. This concept offers high-end luxury brands, signature spa services, and exclusive new treatment concepts.
The design was laid out well for its customers and makes for an easy shopping experience with ample room for browsing and sampling products! Bluemercury even has exclusive lines m-61 and Lune+Aster which were created by Marla Malcolm Beck (CEO and Co-Founder of Bluemercury). To top off being a wonderful product line for moms on the go they are also paraben free and vegan. Who doesn’t appreciate that?
I had an opportunity to interview Barry Beck (COO & Founder) and Marla regarding how this all started and their vision for the future. Marla started this company in 1999 as a way to get high-quality products at a neighborhood store. At the time, small shops like this didn’t exist – they were the first of their kind and now have 76 stores nationwide. I spoke with Barry regarding entrepreneurship and his advice to new entrepreneurs was “just get out there and start.” They were both very friendly and passionate about their business.
It was such a fun afternoon viewing the new store-in-store collections, meeting Barry and Marla, getting a personal hair consultation from award-winning international hairstylist Tara Smith, and getting an amazing contouring job by the ladies of Rodial Cosmetics. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Bluemercury and definitely encourage you to check it out when you’re in the Memorial City Mall area. Many thanks to Juliana for hosting us, I am so excited to try all my new products!
I also got to meet Nicole from Lipstick & Brunch blog.
